Tough on Bugs. Friendly for Pets and People.

Protecting the Health of Your Family and Pets

As homeowners with pets and children, we wanted to create the greenest most effective pest control service we possibly could. A service that provides effective pest management and will protect the health of your family and pets by using a combination of natural, botanical, eco-friendly, and organic materials. Quite simply, we wanted to create a service that is tough on bugs, and friendly for pets, people, and the planet.

From Environmentally Conscious to E&G Pest Solutions  Green

If you’re familiar with E&G Pest Solutions  , you already know that all of our programs are designed to be environmentally conscious. However, there is a difference between being environmentally conscious and being completely green, and we are very excited to introduce you to our Green service option.

We’re Green. Completely Green.

While others may say they provide a green or natural pest control service; E&G Pest Solutions  has developed a cutting-edge program that is completely green and eco-friendly.

You may see other companies advertise that they provide “safe pest control,” “organic pest control,” or a service that is “all-natural,” “green,” “non-toxic”, “earth-friendly,” or “eco-friendly” because they use some natural materials. We just ask that before you make a decision to purchase a service described as “organic” or “safe”, that you please take the time to thoroughly investigate those companies. To help you make an informed decision when purchasing a green pest control service, following is a checklist to determine if the pest control service you’re considering is truly green.

Checklist to determine if a pest control service is really green:

checkAsk if any of the materials included in their green program contain pyrerthroids or synergists. If the answer is yes, the program is not “Green”.

The first thing we recommend is asking the pest control company “what are the methods and materials that you use to control pests?”.  Most pesticides used by the pest control industry are low in toxicity, but not “green.” Many are synthetic pyrethroids, such as Demand, Suspend, Cykick, Bifenthrin Granules, etc. These materials are by no means natural or classified as reduced-risk pesticides, and they are definitely not “green.”

checkFind out how many of the products are either 1, EPA Exempt (25b list), 2. Botanical (naturally derived from plants), 3. Desiccant materials, or 4. EPA Reduced-risk status

Products that do not fit into one of these 4 categories are unlikely to be Green. The terms “green” or “organic” imply that the service being purchased is based upon non-chemical measures and the use of naturally occurring pesticides. Based upon this perspective, to deliver a truly “green” pest control service, only those products that come from earth-based materials such as borates, desiccant dusts such as diatomaceous earth and silica, or botanical insecticides and pesticides classified in 25b by the EPA (EPA exempt materials) can be used. Active ingredients that meet the criterion for EPA Exemption (Category 25b) are listed here.

checkCheck out the company’s website.

Before you hire a green pest control company, we also recommend checking the pest management company’s website to ensure that they are promoting a green service and to ensure their service fully meets your expectations.  If a door to door salesperson is selling a green service, please also be sure to check the company’s website before signing an agreement.

    Our Company is also Green

E&G Pest Solutions   has always been an industry leader even before we developed our green pest control service in 2017. Not only are our company leaders board members of environmental organizations such as Earthshare, but our company philosophy has also always revolved around limiting the use of pesticides to those areas necessary to effectively prevent pest activity. By understanding pest physiology, biology and behavior, our pesticide applications can be targeted to control pests without broad-spectrum applications of pesticides.

At E&G Pest Solutions  , our environmental and ecological impact is considered in every decision we make. We are always finding new ways to make our company a more environmentally conscious organization, and we believe that every small step can help the environment.

Below are some of the things we do in the office and the field to reduce our footprint

    • We’ve upgraded our appliances in the office to save energy.
    • We recycle our office paper, our ink cartridges and our old cell phones.
    • We give customers discounts for using credit cards instead of mailing checks.
    • We use programmable thermostats to control our building temperature.
    • We donate our old or unused office equipment and cell phones.
    • We have electronic sensors and timers on our office lights.
    • We try to teleconference rather than travel.
    • We read our periodicals online.
    • We pay bills and receive payments electronically.
    • We re-use packing materials.
    • We print double sided copies in the office where possible.
    • We switch off lights and equipment whenever they are not in use.
    • All of our non-essential office equipment monitors, printers, etc. turn off when not in use.

“Thank you E&G Pest Solutions  for solving my ant problem. My wife and I had gone through a lot of research and attempts with organic DIY products and we still had a problem. We wish we would have called you guys sooner so we would not have wasted so much time trying to solve this ourselves.”
